A feminist manifesto in graphic novel format that that has its origins in a fanzine.This is a brief book that is heavy on illustrative content.
A broad range of topics are covered as each page features a different challenge faced by girls and women. An impassioned and serious tone explains a litany of limitations imposed upon girls and women; statistics are used to support each case. Issues featured include physical and verbal harassment, racism, rape and murder, body shaming and economic inequality.
The graphic novel is intersectional, including women from various walks of life. Illustrations depict girls and women of various shapes, sizes and skin colour and style, some interacting with others whilst others stare straight out to the reader. The illustrative style has a retro, pop-art look and uses a limited palette of lavender, purple and white alongside strong outlines. For more information:
